
HBO has shared the first images of the highly anticipated Game of Thrones series, House of Dragon. Photos from the reveal feature Matt Smith playing the role of Prince Daemon Targaryen and Emma D’Arcy as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen. Also, Olivia Cooke appears as Alicent Hightower and Rhys Ifans shows up as Otto Hightower.
The show will be set hundreds of years before Game of Thrones. House of Dragons will focus on the House of Targaryen and the civil war that became known as the Dance of Dragons.
Currently, the show is being steered by George R.R. Martin’s book, Fire & Blood. Meanwhile, Miguel Sapochnik and Ryan Condal taken on the role of showrunners.
The cast and crew kicked off production April 26 with a 10-episode order from the premium cable network. Production is expected to run into the summer with a projected 2022 release date. While we wait for it to arrive on HBO, check out the first photos from the set below.
