The Miami Heat have found a replacement for Dwyane Wade! Dion Waiters. Now, it might not be the player Heat fans were looking for, but it’s definitely better than nobody. According to Jon Krawczynski of the Associated Press:
AP Sources with @ByTimReynolds: Dion Waiters has agreed to a 1-year deal with Heat for $2.9M exception.

Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical on Yahoo! Sports has more information on Waiters contract.
Free-agent guard Dion Waiters has signed a two-year, nearly $6 million contract with the Miami Heat, league sources told The Vertical.
Waiters holds a player option on the 2017-18 season and signed using the $2.9 million room mid-level exception, league sources said.
The Heat will use an exception to sign Dion Waiters to a 1-year, $2.9 million deal. Waiters spent the last 2 years with the Oklahoma City Thunder and he was a big part of their playoff run this year as well. Waiters averaged 9.8 points, 2.6 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 3-pointer per game throughout the season and now he has the opportunity to have a much larger role with the Miami Heat. After Dwyane Wade’s departure to the Chicago Bulls, the 2-guard spot for the Heat is wide open and you can bet Josh Richardson, Tyler Johnson and Waiters will all be going for it when training camp comes. Can Dion Waiters turn out to be the best shooting guard in the league like he said he would? Let’s not get ahead of ourselves.
