HBO Max has ordered the development of three new series led by Ellen DeGeneres’ production company, A Very Good Production. The television talk show host made the announcement on her show on Friday. Along with the announcement, she also offered a free two year subscription to the streaming platform for everyone in the audience. The line-up of new series includes Ellen’s Home Design Challenge, First Dates Hotel and Little Ellen.
Ellen’s Home Design Challenge reunites the production team behind Ellen’s 2015 HGTV series, Ellen’s Design Challenge. The series will be an unscripted, design competition show.
First Dates Hotel also reunites members of a previous reality series produced by the TV star. The series will be based on the format of the UK series that was adapted from a series DeGeneres produced. Previous seasons of the series will also be available on HBO Max.
Little Ellen will be an animated children’s series based around DeGeneres as a child.
There is no word on whether Ellen will appear in the series. HBO Max is set to launch in Spring 2020.
