Epic Records has put its time, effort and resources into producing an incredible lineup for the soundtrack of the upcoming film, Gully. The nine-track project brings together the talents of Snoh Aalegra, Ty Dolla $ign, Miguel, Buddy, ScHoolboy Q and 21 Savage. Gary Clark Jr., Dua Lipa, Mike WILL Made-It and Don Toliver also contributed to the label’s effort. To provide a taste of what fans can expect, Epic Records has debuted the first track from the soundtrack, “Can They Hear Us” by Dua Lipa.
Gully’s music influences don’t end with Dua Lipa and the soundtrack. The film is directed by Nabil, a successful music video director who has worked with Kanye West, Frank Ocean and Kendrick Lamar. In addition, Travis Scott is supposed to make an appearance in the movie.
Nabil’s first feature film will center around a trio of teens in Los Angeles navigating societal challenges while working to maintain strong friendships. Kelvin Harrison Jr., Jacob Lattimore and Amber Heard lead the cast.
“Gully was my first narrative feature, and it was also the first soundtrack I executive produced,” Nabil told Variety about his first feature film.
“I was so blessed to have many of my friends and musical collaborators be a part of this journey and create new songs specifically for Gully. I am truly grateful to every one of them for their support of me and the film.”
Gully is set to arrive in theaters on June 4. In the meantime, check out “Can They Hear Us” by Dua Lipa below.
