Coach Marshall said in his statement that, “My coaching style isn’t for everyone.” Claiming that, “Many players thrive in the system…” The allegations of abuse range from sucker punching one player in the face to choking an assistant coach as well as using ethnic and racial slurs towards some players. Coach Marshall also said, “What I am not is demeaning or abusive.”
Coach Marshall is the winningest coach in program history and has taken the Shockers to never seen before success. In 2014 they completed an undefeated regular season and Marshall took the team to a Final Four in recent years as well. Since the story broke Wichita State University has started an internal investigation. Eight players entered the transfer portal last season to play for other programs.
