It’s been two years since Goldlink dropped his last album, At What Cost. However, his star has skyrocketed since then. His hit single, “Crew,” has gone three times platinum and been nominated for a Grammy. Not to mention, his song has become an unofficial national anthem for the District of Columbia. Aside from his hit single, Goldlink has made an appearance on Denzel Curry‘s latest album, worked with Christina Aguilera and dropped singles like “Got Friends” and “Got Muscle.” Heading into the second half of the new year, Goldlink looks to drop his sophomore album.
As he gears up for the follow-up to At What Cost, Goldlink has dropped a new single called “Zulu Screams” featuring Maleek Berry and Bibi Bourelly. The song has an upbeat vibe with apparent Afrobeats influences. On the hook, Goldlink raps, “I ain’t been back in a minute, that’s crazy. I ain’t seen you ’round, don’t call, don’t page me. Pull up on your block, don’t you ever try to fade me.” It’s unclear if parts of this track are aimed at Sheck Wes, who allegedly tried to jump him and his girlfriend, Justine Skye, earlier this year. Either way, this is a strong lead in to his next major project.
