It has been a crazy offseason for the NFL these past few weeks. However, if the rumors are true, then this offseason is about to get even more insane. There have been some reports that the New York Giants could be open to trading their star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.
What is the price for one of the best receivers currently in the game? According to Adam Schefter, the price falls around two first-round picks.
Giants have asked for at least two first-round picks in return for Odell Beckham Jr., a league source tells ESPN, even though team insists it is not shopping him.
Doesn’t mean they get it, or close to it, or even trade OBJ. But they have asked for at least two first-round picks.

The whole speculation began this past weekend when Giants co-owner John Mara said that no one on the team was untouchable and did not comment when asked if Beckham would be with the team in 2018. Mara later said:
“He’s not on the block. Is that going to stop clubs from possibly calling us? No. But he’s not on the block. We’re not shopping him around. I don’t want him to be traded. I want him to be a Giant. I can’t say it’s a 100 percent guarantee it will happen. Can’t say that about any player.”
Beckham has been in the news recently but not for the right reasons. His latest incident involved a video of him in a hotel room with a woman and white substance nearby.
Beckham reportedly is prepared to sit out if he does not get a new contract. He is wanting to become the highest paid receiver in the league. Currently, the highest paid receiver in the NFL is Antonio Brown of the Pittsburgh Steelers, who is set to make around $17 million in 2018.
Beckham missed a majority of the 2017 season after fracturing his ankle. He has posted numerous videos of him working out during his rehab, and he is set to make a huge comeback this year regardless of what jersey he wears.
To summarize, the Giants have no plan to trade Beckham and will try to work out a new contract. If push comes to shove, the Giants could use the franchise tag on Beckham for 2019 and 2020. Beckham is a big star to lose.
