New York Giants star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr will require surgery after being carted off the field in the fourth quarter against the Chargers. After leaving the field Beckham was immediately taken for X-rays.
It is being reported that the Giants believe the wide receiver has broken his Fibula:
I’m told #NYG believe Odell Beckham Jr has broken fibula. Not sure if there is any ligament damage. Will have MRI.

As of now he is headed into surgery:
Odell Beckham is headed for surgery, per source. He injured his leg in the fourth quarter.

As you can see from the video Beckham was extending for a pass when he was rolled up and landed on by Casey Hayward.
The full extent of the injury is unknown so the amount of time Beckham will miss is unclear, however since the injury requires surgery it is more than possible that he misses the rest of the season. If Odell recovers before the end of the season it’s likely the Giants hold him out as a precaution because the team is currently sitting at 0-5 and will probably miss the playoffs.
Of course, this is all speculative.
The Giants can place Beckham on injured reserve and have the option to reactivate him if healthy after week 8.
Wide receivers Brandon Marshall and Sterling Shepard also went down with less severe ankle injuries. Before the injury Beckham had 5 receptions for 97 yards and a touchdown.
