This weekend, there are a number of interesting fights taking place in the sport of boxing. Joe Joe Joyce will put his undefeated record on the line against heavy-handed slugger Zhilei Zhang. Hours later, Mikaela Mayer will make her lightweight debut on ESPN. While there is more than enough action set to take place this weekend, fans have their eyes set on a major pay-per-view event set for April 22, 2023 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Less than ten days stand between fight fans and a catchweight clash featuring Ryan Garcia and Gervonta “Tank” Davis. DraftKings currently lists Davis as a -250 favorite and the Baltimore native is confident that he has the skills to prove the bettors right. During a recent media session, the WBA “Regular” Lightweight Champion said that he feels “great” and will send fans home “early.”
“Make sure you come early and get your popcorn or whatever you want to get, because this is gonna be an early night for sure,” Davis said.
“I’m feeling great. Everything is about staying completely focused on the task, because I know I have a challenge in front of me on April 22.”
Davis is not the only fighter who feels confident in his ability to emerge with the win. Garcia has also promised fans that he will walk away with the win.
“That fight will not go the distance. No way possible can it go the distance. I will not let Gervonta Davis off the hook,” Garcia said.
Only one man will be correct when the two unbeaten fighters meet on April 22, 2023 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
