By the end of May, Game of Thrones will be over. No more King’s Landing. No dragons. No Denaerys Targarian. But maybe there’s hope. Maybe a prequel about the twisted fantasy adventure TV show will keep us content.
There is no release date or production date released, but the pilot that was picked up in June has finally picked its cast and it’s quite the list. THR learned that the series has cast Naomi Ackie, Denise Gough, Jamie Campbell Bower, Sheila Atim, Ivanno Jeremiah, Georgie Henley Alex Sharp and Toby Regbo as series regulars.
All actors/actresses are up and coming stars, with some pretty big gigs infront of them. Ackie is appearing in the next JJ Abrams Star Wars movie. Denis Gough is Tony-nominated for Angels in America. Jamie Campbell Bower has played many roles from movies like Sweeney Todd, Twilight, Mortal Instruments. Toby Regbo was recently in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindewald. So you can tell that HBO has done their research when it comes to making their picks.
There’s little to no information about the prequel but the drama is set thousands of years before the events of the Thrones. HBO’s logline for the series gives us a sneak-peek of what to expect. “Only one thing is for sure: From the horrifying secrets of Westeros’ history to the true origin of the White Walkers, the mysteries of the East to the Starks of legend — it’s not the story we think we know.”
