The NBA is back and what a way to do it. After the official start of the season on Tuesday, most of the teams made their season debut on Wednesday and the game of the day was, without a doubt, the New York Knicks win over the Boston Celtics 138-134.
Both Celtics and Knicks had their moments of dominance where they led in the score but soon the other one would catch up to get a close game again.
In the final play of the regular time, the Celtics run a nice play from under their basket to run the court and find Marcus Smart to score a three to tie the game.

In overtime, Evan Fournier, one of the offseason additions, came up big to keep the Knicks in the game and eventually leave with the win. He finished with 32 points, becoming the first player to score 30 or more points in his Knicks debut.

Later on, Derrick Rose ice the game with a floater and the Knicks got a win to give all the fans present in Madison Square Garden for the season opener.
“Just win the game. Every time before we go out, coach [Thibodeau] puts on the board, find a way to win”, Julius Randle said after the game. “Evan came up huge, hit big shots. Everyone made big plays, Derrick made big plays and we got it done.
Randle himself had quite a game with 35 points, 8 rebounds, 9 assists, and 3 blocks. With Fournier, they became the first duo to score 30 or more points each in a season opener for the Knicks.
As for the Celtics, Jaylen Brown scored a career-high 46 points and set a record for the most points scored by a Celtics player in a season-opening game.
