In past years, a Fox Comic-Con preview would’ve been full of X-Men and Fantastic Four news. But, considering most of those assets are now in the possession of Disney, there’s really not much to look forward to from Fox on the film side. However, Fox’s cable networks, FX and FXX, have a few shows making appearances at the ‘Con this year.
First up, on Friday, the network will be hosting a panel for its long-running adult animated series, Archer. Archer is currently in the midst of its tenth season on the network and showing no signs of slowing down. So, I’d expect for fans in attendance to see the newest episode that week and maybe get a hint at what’s in store for season 11. But, with a few episodes left in this season after Comic-Con, I’m not sure how much will be revealed due to spoilers.
FX is keeping things going on Saturday with a panel for one of their newer series, What We Do in the Shadows. The vampire mockumentary was a smash hit for the network but only just finished up its first season so I doubt there will be any new footage to come out of this panel. But, hopefully, we’ll get some exciting details about what’s in store for season two and beyond. Then, rounding out the weekend on Sunday, FX is hosting a panel for their Sons of Anarchy spinoff, Mayans MC. The series’ first season was mostly well-received by fans and critics and with the second season premiere just a few months away, there will probably be a lot to show off at this panel.
Otherwise, there’s nothing else to really report. Who knows though? The ex-Fox Marvel characters could always be part of a surprise announcement but that’ll happen at Marvel’s panel if it does. (You can check out Def Pen’s Preview of Marvel’s Comic-Con panel here.)
