The 2018 midsummer classic lasted ten innings and resulted in an 8-6 defeat of the NL team. Astros third baseman, Alex Bregman, took home the award for the MVP of the 2018 All-Star Game and hopes to defend his title again this year by having a good game. The NL’s manager stayed the same for this year’s midsummer classic since the Dodgers have reached the World Series in both of the last two years.
The final rosters are left to the commissioner’s office and will come together to decide the best rosters. This Sunday, June 30th the final 2019 All-Star Game rosters will be revealed. The 2019 MLB Home Run Derby will take place on Monday, July 8th at Progressive Field in Cleveland. The midsummer classic will take place the next day on July 9th where the AL squad will take on the NL squad.
