The Iowa Hawkeyes and Minnesota Golden Gophers have both struggled some this season in the Big Ten and in the NCAA. Neither team is currently ranked in the Top 25. Iowa is currently ninth in the Big Ten Standings while Minnesota is 13th in the Big Ten Standings. Minnesota is second from the bottom ahead of only the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
Fran McCaffery is a talented Head Coach and the team will be worse off without him on the bench coaching his team. While Minnesota is likely without much hope moving forward, but Iowa still has some. The Hawkeyes are currently sitting at 14-7 overall with a 4-6 Big Ten record. They can ill-afford a loss to a team like Minnesota. We here at Def Pen Sports hope for a quick recovery for the Iowa Head Coach.
