Stone chose Maryland over defending national champion UConn, his hometown Wisconsin Badgers, and Oklahoma State. The commitment has Maryland fans raving about how high their potential is next season assuming Melo Trimble decides to forgo the NBA Draft and continue his collegiate career for Maryland. They will not only be one of the best teams in the Big 10, but will be once of the best teams in the entire country.
Maryland could potentially be ranked in the top five when the preseason rankings come out, and will for sure be in at least the top ten. With the addition of Stone to an already deep roster, Maryland could make a run for the national title. Maryland is going to have big expectations for the first time in a long time, and they should go further than they have gone since their last national championship in 2002.
