In North Carolina State’s 75-65 sweet 16 loss to Louisville, Beejay Anya threw down a monster putback dunk off of a Caleb Martin missed layup attempt. The dunk brought the Wolfpack within two points of Louisville, and was certainly a play that gave the wolfpack a lot of energy and momentum.
In his sophomore season, Anya had averages of 4.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 2.6 blocks per game. Anya had other glorious moments in the NCAA tournament, such as hitting the final four points in a win over LSU, which included a buzzer beater to give NC State a one-point victory, and send his team to a berth in the round of 32 where they beat number one seeded Villanova. He looks to capitalize on the strong season, and become a full time starter for the Wolfpack come next season.
Louisville now moves on to play the winner of the Oklahoma vs Michigan State game in the Elite 8. They fought back from an eight point deficit to beat NC State, and will look to continue their postseason run on Sunday night.
