The 2023 NBA Finals is headed to Miami, Florida for game three with the series tied at 1-1. Both teams will be looking to take the pivotal game three matchup. The Heat are looking to defend their home court while the Nuggets are looking to get revenge for game two. Player props can be exciting for games like this, but finding the right props is vital. We here at Def Pen Sports have three props that could be perfect for game three. These three props feature two players on the Denver Nuggets, Michael Porter Jr and Aaron Gordon.
Michael Porter Jr Points 15+ (-108) (Odds via Mybookie)
Michael Porter Jr does several things well on the basketball court, but chief among them is scoring the basketball. Thus far in the 2023 NBA Finals, he has not hit the 15-point mark. In games one and two he scored 14 points and five points respectively, but that should change in game three. As one of the primary scoring options on the team, the Nuggets will need him to be on his A game for the third game of the series. Considering there aren’t many games in which he records many assists, his best chance to be a net positive on offense is to score and score often. The fact is with two games under 15 points, Porter Jr is due a game where he goes for more than that mark.
Michael Porter Jr Threes 4+ (+150) (Odds via Mybookie)
Scoring against the Miami defense is hard at the best of times both inside and outside of the three-point line. For the same reasons as the above section, the Nuggets need Michael Porter Jr to shoot well if they want to win game three of the 2023 NBA Finals. The issue here is that he isn’t always a reliable shooter from beyond the arc. Typically though he is comfortable taking as many shoots as it takes to win the game and he does not shy away from letting the ball fly. Tonight we just need to see four or more of those go inside the basket. Porter Jr’s cold streak thus far in the series needs to end tonight for the sake of the Nuggets and their hopes for the franchise’s first NBA title.
Aaron Gordon Assists 3+ (+130) (Odds via Mybookie)
The Nuggets are a much better basketball team when they are sharing the ball. While Aaron Gordon did not hit the three assists mark in game one or game two things are looking more favorable for game three. Breaking the tight Miami defense means passing the ball well and getting open looks when possible. If Michael Porter Jr is going to have a good game, someone will need to get him the ball. Aaron Gordon also does not match up well against Bam Adebayo and the Heat down low. Look for him to serve as a distraction as he drives in and kicks out to a better look on the perimeter.
