The NBA has decided not to suspend Denver Nuggets star center Nikola Jokic for shoving Suns owner Mat Ishbia in game four. After the incident, Jokic was assessed a technical foul before action resumed. The Denver Nuggets star will be fined $25,000 dollars but critically avoids the suspension for the team’s game five matchups against the Phoenix Suns. With the series tied at two games, the game five matchup in Denver will be vital for the team that wins to take a key advantage in the series. The winner of the series will advance to the Western Conference Finals.

Phoenix Suns owner Mat Ishbia took to Twitter after the game and said the following about Nikola Jokic and the incident overall: “Great win for the Suns last night in an amazing series so far! That should be and is the only story. Suspending or fining anyone over last night’s incident would not be right. I have a lot of respect for Jokic and don’t want to see anything like that. Excited for game 5! Go Suns!”
This year during the regular season with the Denver Nuggets, Nikola Jokic averaged 24.5 points, 11.8 rebounds, 9.8 assists, and 1.3 steals per game. He paired those numbers with a field goal percentage of 63.2 percent and a three-point percentage of 38.3 percent. The two-time MVP is hoping to make the NBA Finals this year and add to his impressive collection of NBA trophies.
