NBA Picks 1/17/22
We ended the week with a 3-0 day. With matinee games on MLK day, let’s get right to today’s slate and see if we can carry over the momentum. We analyze the NBA Picks 1/17/22.
Milwaukee Bucks(-5.5) at Atlanta Hawks(+5.5) 6:00 p.m EST
This is a bet on Giannis. The Hawks have no answer for him and will struggle to create a ton of clean looks if Milwaukee is locked in on defense. Milwaukee is just flat out better and the line is reasonable.
Pick: Milwaukee Bucks -5.5 (-110 via DraftKings)

Utah Jazz(-4.5) at Los Angeles Lakers(+4.5) 10:40 p.m EST
The Lakers are not playing very good basketball right now. Russell Westbrook’s brother is all over social media coming to the defense of the much-maligned star. There’s a three-minute compilation video floating around of Westbrook’s worse jumpers this season. Anthony Davis is still out. Malik Monk has come back to earth. The Jazz, on the other hand, have Rudy Gobert back and should be able to contain the Laker offensive attack. Los Angeles will have to catch fire from deep if they want to keep this one competitive.
Pick: Utah Jazz -4.5 (-110 via DraftKings)

OKC Thunder(+11.5) vs Dallas Mavericks(-11.5) 8:40 p.m EST
The Mavericks kept playing with their food against the Magic on Saturday. The game was between 10-12 points for most of the game and it took a 4th quarter push for the Mavericks to put the game away for good. They didn’t shoot particularly well and Luka Doncic, in particular, did not have his best game. The Thunder, while talent deficient, do play hard. 11.5 points is simply too high. The Mavericks will win but this game will be uncomfortably close in the 4th.
Pick: OKC Thunder +11.5 (-110 via DraftKings)
