NYC based, Extra Butter is teaming up with the folks at adidas for this two sneaker collection dubbed the Extra Butter x adidas Originals Vanguard Collection. Using imagination and adventurous exploration as mentioned by the Extra Butter team as the base of inspiration on the adidas ZX Flux and ZX Trail Mid, the ‘Vanguard’ collection was excellently executed. Especially the ZX Trail Mid which is my personal favorite out of the two.

On the forefront of exploration and new ideas, the ZX Flux and ZX Trail Mid take inspiration from both the maritime and wilderness frontiers. The ZX Flux ($130) draws inspiration from deep in the nautical seascape with it’s rare species print fully neoprene upper, taped seams, and glow in the dark accents for underwater visibility. The ZX Trail Mid ($140) features a duck canvas/nappy suede upper, embroidered patches, and takes influence from youth scout survival, as well as nature’s finest campgrounds.
