WBC and IBF welterweight titlist Errol Spence Jr. and Danny Garcia have agreed to meet for a pay-per-view bout this fall at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
Garcia comes in to the ring with a record of 36 wins with 21 knockouts and two losses. His most recent outing occurred in January when he won a 12-round decision against Ivan Redkach.
Spence Jr. comes to the ring after the longest layoff of his professional career. In September, Spence Jr. defeated Shawn Porter by split decision at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Shortly thereafter, he was involved in a car accident in his hometown of Dallas, Texas. He suffered facial lacerations and a broken jaw.
Prior to Spence Jr.’s accident, there were early discussions of a Garcia and Spence Jr. title bout. Unfortunately, those discussions were put on pause. Now, fans will get the fight they’ve been looking for.
