Shortly before the holidays, Eminem surprised fans with a generous gift, new music. Seven days before Christmas, he delivered the deluxe version of Music To Be Murdered By. The new batch of songs included guest appearances from Ty Dolla $ign, Dr. Dre and DJ Premier. He also made headlines by offering some advice to Drake and taking shots at Snoop Dogg. Ultimately, it doesn’t appear that his deluxe effort will prove to be as successful as the original.
The deluxe version of Eminem’s Music To Be Murdered By is expected to move anywhere between 70,000 and 80,000 units during its first week. This week’s sales would place the Detroit native at number three on the Billboard 200 chart. He will likely finish by heavy hitters like Taylor Swift and Paul McCartney.
In perspective, this a major drop-off from the original release in January. The initial Music To Be Murdered By release was well received and resulted in upwards of 275,000 units sold during the first week. He debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 chart as well.
On a brighter note, he will likely compete for the top spot on the Billboard Rap Album chart. There, he will compete against the likes of Pop Smoke and Megan Thee Stallion for number one. Final sales will likely arrive later this week.
