The New York Jets have traded wide receiver Elijah Moore and the 74th overall pick to the Cleveland Browns for the 42nd overall pick. This move pads assets for the New York Jets in their quest to trade for Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. With the addition of wide receiver Allen Lazard, there were likely to be even fewer snaps for Moore this upcoming season. The Browns will now have quarterback Deshaun Watson back for the full season and needed to add some wide receiver depth for him to throw to next season.

This past season with the New York Jets, Elijah Moore caught 37 passes for 446 yards and one touchdown on 65 targets. He also had five carries for five yards and zero rushing touchdowns. With the Jets adding more talent at the position, there was going to be an odd man out on the roster. Moore will get a fresh start to his young career with the Cleveland Browns. The team has a clear-cut number one wide receiver in Aamri Cooper, but after that the position is up in the air for the team. Moore will have a chance to compete for the number two spot this season.
