Drew Brees joined the New Orleans Saints in the 2006 offseason and has since become more synonymous with the team than perhaps any other player. Given his deep ties with the Saints organization and longstanding connection with head coach Sean Payton, it comes as no surprise that NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport is reporting Brees has extended his contract for the next two years.
The #Saints agree to terms with QB Drew Brees, source said. He gets a 2-year deal worth roughly $50M. Never in doubt, but now done. And Brees took less to help the team continue to build.

In his storied NFL career, Brees has made 13 Pro Bowls en route to setting the NFL’s all-time record for passing yards. Finishing the 2019 NFL season with a record of 13-3, the NFC South champion Saints were upset by the Minnesota Vikings early in the Playoffs.
