Drew Brees had a special night ahead of him heading into the New Orleans Saints Monday Night Football matchup against the Washington Redkins. The man who has been behind center for New Orleans for the last 13 years saw his career hit a new milestone. Brees is officially the NFL’s all-time leader in career passing yards.
Brees showed no signs of slowing down in season 18 as he racked up 363 passing yards against Washington along with three touchdowns in the Saints 43-19 blowout.

The next milestone for Brees is the career passing touchdowns record. He’s sitting at 499 for his career and only trails Tom Brady, Brett Favre and Peyton Manning on that list. Tom Brady also joined the 500 touchdowns club last Thursday in the New England Patriots win over the Indianapolis Colts.
Brees and the Saints are now 4-1 on the season and sit atop the NFC South standings ahead of the Carolina Panthers only leading by mere percentage points. If Brees wants to make season 18 special, he’s going to have to continue the marvelous performance he’s put on this season so far.
