“Boogie” Cousins once again struggled with injuries and will try again at rebuilding his value. The former All-NBA center had signed a one year contract with the Warriors after suffering a torn ACL with the Pelicans the previous season. Cousins averaged 16.3 points and 8.2 rebounds last year in 30 regular season games with the Warriors though he struggled with conditioning and defensive play in his return before suffering a torn quad in the playoffs.
Now Cousins will once again be able to compete for a championship this time teaming up with LeBron James and former teammate Anthony Davis. The former All-Star had other suitors besides Los Angeles according to Adrian Wojnarowski. The Miami Heat had interest in signing Cousins, but his former teammate Anthony Davis made a strong push for Cousins to join him in LA.
The Lakers are assembling all the talent they can right now. With the blockbuster news of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George joining the rival Clippers, the Lakers will try to prove that Lakers still run Los Angeles.
