Could interest be sparking with California quarterback Davis Webb? After the recent Cal Pro Day, Webb recently said that multiple teams have told him that he could be selected in the first-round of the 2017 NFL Draft.
“I’ve talked to a lot of NFL people,” Webb said, via ESPN.com. “And double-digit teams have told me I’m a first-round guy. Every meeting I’ve had, they’ve said I’m one of the best quarterbacks on the board.”
Webb is my number one rated quarterback heading into the 2017 NFL Draft but that is not a popular opinion by most experts. Mitchell Trubisky, Deshaun Watson, DeShone Kizer, and Patrick Mahomes are all potential first round options according to most people. Of course, all of these draft rumors should be taken with a grain of salt as this could very well be a tactic to throw other teams off.
Webb, 6’5″, has elite size and a rocket arm that makes him the prototypical pocket passer. I’m not sure any quarterback has a higher ceiling that Webb. For more on the quarterback prospect, check out some of my draft notes below.
