Lightweight prospect Keyshawn Davis is expected to fight former IBO champion Emmanuel Tagoe on April 8, 2023 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. The bout will be featured as a co-main event headlined by Shakur Stevenson and Shuichiro Yoshino. Heavyweight contender Jared Anderson is also expected to fight in Newark, New Jersey on April 8, but an opponent has not yet been identified.
Davis is an Olympic silver medalist who has won his first seven pro fights. The Norfolk, Virginia native last fought Juan Carlos Burgos of Mexico for the WBO Inter-Continental lightweight title at Madison Square Garden. He also fought at the Prudential Center on September 23, 2022 against Omar Tienda Bahena.
Tagoe lost his pro debut against Lante Addy on June 19, 2004 in Accra, Ghana. From there, he won 32 consecutive fights over the course of 16 years. Ultimately, his unbeaten streak came to end as he lost a unanimous decision against Ryan Garcia in San Antonio on April 9, 2022.
