The Green Bay Packers continue to make big moves to secure their contending team for next season. Star wide receiver Davante Adams has been franchise tagged by the Green Bay Packers heading into next season. The hope by both sides is they will work out a long-term deal before the deadline in June. Adams has expressed interest in continuing to play with newly extended quarterback Aaron Rodgers for the next few years.
From NFL Now: With the #Packers set to franchise tag WR Davante Adams, worth noting that Aaron Rodgers’ cap number the next two seasons is very manageable. It’ll allow GB to do what it needs to do. pic.twitter.com/seo7wCrlO8

Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams have been a top duo in the NFL for a few years now and that will likely not change heading into next season. The Packers’ number one target is still a top NFL wide receiver. This past season he caught 123 passes for 1,553 yards and 11 touchdowns. The season before he caught 115 passes for 1,374 yards and 18 touchdowns. A long-term deal doesn’t have to be reached this year, but Rodgers, Adams, and the Green Bay Packers would likely prefer that outcome.

The Green Bay Packers lost at home in the divisional round as the number one seed to the San Francisco 49ers in the 2022 NFL Playoffs. Capturing another Super Bowl is the ultimate goal for the franchise and securing Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams is the first major steps to doing that. We here at Def Pen Sports will continue to monitor the situation and report on any deals that get made.
