Nevada Wolf Pack star freshman wing Darrion Williams has announced that he will enter the transfer portal this offseason. There will likely be a long list of teams from every major conference that reach out to Darrion Williams in the coming weeks. He was a big part of the Wolf Pack’s success this season and losing him is a blow to the program which was likely counting on him being with them for the next few years. With the new transfer portal and NIL rules in effect, this has happened a lot in college basketball lately.

Darrion Williams was fantastic for the Nevada Wolf Pack in his first year with the program. He won the Mountain West Freshman of the Year award while averaging 7.6 points, 7.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.4 steals per game. He paired those numbers with a field goal percentage of 41.4 percent and a three-point percentage of 35.7 percent. There could be a major recruiting ball for the wing that has flashed plenty of potential in just one season. After the team was eliminated by the Arizona State Sun Devils in the 2023 NCAA Tournament First Four, speculation began about Williams. He denied the transfer rumors at the time, but will now be in the transfer portal this offseason.
