Oscar nominee Cynthia Erivo has expanded her relationship with MRC Television and Civic Center Media by finalizing a first-look deal. Under this new deal, Erivo will develop television projects for MRC Television.
This news comes just months after Erivo wrapped up her time on HBO’s The Outsider. While working on the show, Erivo developed a relationship with MRC Television, who also worked on the show. MRC Television also worked on hit shows like Ozark and the Shining Girls.
“MRC was an incredible partner on The Outsider and I’m unbelievably excited to begin this new creative journey in television with them,” she said.
In addition to establishing this new venture, Erivo announced that she would be launching her own production company, Edith’s Daughter. For her first big move, Erivo hired former BRON Studios Executive Solome Williams as the company’s vice president.
“I could not think of a better partner than my new Vice President Solome Williams, who is brilliant and has thoroughly impressed me with her experience and drive. I’m looking forward to building with her.”
Moving forward, Erivo will star in NatGeo’s Genius: Aretha and Univeral Picture’s Talent Show.
