When you think of the number eight and Kobe Bryant what comes to mind? Well obviously the number on his jersey when him and Shaq ran through the league for three straight rings. Well when I think of the number eight I think deeper so I decided to share the meaning behind the number it self.
The #8 symbolizes balance and power. Some traits to the number is drive, ambition, authority, efficiency, organization, management, discipline, and control. Its closest relative is the #1 as both are powerful, have strong leadership skills and will not shy away from any confrontation. (#8 which is Kobe always strived to be #1, even though he changed his # to 24. LOL)
After all that if you don’t feel any of these symbolic traits don’t strongly describe “The Black Mamba” then my friend, you don’t watch basketball. This also fits perfect with the 8th signature shoe from Kobe and Nike as each colorway was almost always derived from a snake as well.
Kobe Bryant is arguably one of the greatest to play the game (others may beg to differ) and his tough demeanor is always shown on the court. As this past season came to an end that tenacity showed it can be tamed as Kobe tore his achilles after trying to play through two prior collisions.
