It may be hard to believe, but we’ve already reached season four of The Karate Kid legacy series, Cobrai Kai. Initially, the series found limited success at YouTube as an original series. However, production obstacles and other setbacks pushed the series over to Netflix where it found an even larger audience. In just a matter of days, Cobra Kai found its way into Netflix’s ever evolving top ten.
One year after the release of season three, Cobra Kai has returned with season four. Following a season full of twists and turns last January, the story will turn toward an unlikely bond built between Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence as well as the return of Terry Silver.
In a quick sneak peek, Netflix has rolled out a scene that harkens back to the original film franchise. Student turned teacher, Daniel LaRusso, has his class attempt to catch fish with his bare hands much like he had to do as a kid.
“They won’t let you grab them,” Xolo Maridueña, better known as Miguel Diaz, told USA Today about filming the fish catching scene.
“It’s like grabbing a bag of pudding. They were like, ‘Just grab it with two hands, hold it as hard as you can. It’s OK, we will take the fish to therapy after.’”
All of Cobra Kai‘s new season will arrive on December 31. In the meantime, check out this quick preview.
