The majority of states in the United States are slowly working to return to a new normal following the COVID-19 pandemic. In New York, city officials are not only working to return to a new normal, but they are also planning a week of events to help celebrate their progress. One of the potential events in play is a “mega-concert” put together by legendary music executive Clive Davis.
A recent report from the New York Times indicated that Clive Davis is working to plan a three-hour “mega-concert” with 60,000 fans as part of the city’s “Homecoming Week.”
“This concert is going to be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,” New York Mayor Bill de Blasio said.
“It’s going to be an amazing lineup. The whole week is going to be like nothing you’ve ever seen before in New York City.”
Davis has not put together a public lineup yet, but the event is tentatively set to take place on August 21. Given Davis’s connections throughout the industry, potential lineups could feature anyone from Beyoncé to Taylor Swift.
“I can’t think of a better place than the Great Lawn of Central Park to be the place where you say that New York is reopening,” Davis added.
More details regarding the event will come in the next few weeks, but it all looks incredibly promising.
