
Jon Jones will fight Ciryl Gane for the UFC Heavyweight Championship on March 4, 2023 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Ciryl Gane enters the highly-anticipated match with approximately four years of experience in the UFC. In his mixed martial arts career, the 32-year-old French fighter has amassed a record of 11-1 with five knockouts. He suffered his lone loss at the hands of former UFC Heavyweight Champion Francis Ngannou on January 22, 2022. Since then, he has bounced back with a knockout of Tai Tuivasa in Paris, France on September 3, 2022.
Jon Jones will enter the octagon on March 4, 2023 as arguably the greatest fighter in the promotion’s history. With a record of 26-1 to go along with 10 knockouts, the New York native’s lone loss occurred nearly 14 years ago. He was disqualified for throwing illegal elbows against Matt Hamill. Since then, he has defeated several notable fighters, including Vitor Belfort, Daniel Cormier, Rashad Evans, Chael Sonnen and Lyoto Machida. Despite his lengthy resumé, the former light heavyweight champion has only fought once since July 6, 2019.
The winner of the upcoming heavyweight title fight is expected to fight Stipe Miocic. Shortly after the match was announced, Miocic tweeted, “I like it. I got [the] winner in July.”
