Chlöe Bailey will release her debut solo studio album, In Pieces, on March 31, 2023.
“It’s everything that I’ve been going through, all the tearing down, people underestimating, telling me I can’t do it — all of those things have gone into the music,” she previously said about the LP.
“The album is me picking myself up and talking myself out of any little place or space that the world has tried to put me in, that people and personal relationships have tried to put me in, and even [doing that to] myself. It’s me breaking free.”
Chlöe Bailey released the lead single for the LP, “Pray It Away,” in late January. The emotional track received positive reviews, setting her up for the second single.
“‘Pray It Away’ by Chlöe is so good,” one fan tweeted.
“Chlöe’s ‘Pray It Away’ is the epitome of a Cancer sun and I love it,” one fan added.
Upon performing the track during NBA All-Star Weekend in Salt Lake City, the rising artist set the stage for her next single, “Body Do” with Chris Brown. While the track has not arrived in full just yet, it has not received the support that her previous single has.
“We’re failing Black women in music if they feel like they have to collaborate with a known abuser in order to chart,” Philadelphia Magazine Editor-At-Lage Ernest Owens tweeted.
“Disgusting. That’s how it feels. Stop giving this abusive p.o.s. attention,” another critic tweeted.
Chlöe Bailey’s “How Does It Feel” featuring Chris Brown will arrive on February 24, 2023.
