This will be first ASG at United Center. Last All-Star Weekend in Chicago was 1988 at Chicago Stadium. Michael Jordan won the MVP award in the game and also won the Slam Dunk Contest in an epic duel over Dominique Wilkins.

The news will be made official on Friday, and the press conference will have some big names in attendance:
#Bulls and city will make a "major announcement" Friday at 2 p.m. in a press conference with Adam Silver, Michael Reinsdorf, Rahm Emanuel, John Paxson and others.

2018 All-Star Weekend will be held at Staples Center in Los Angeles, and 2019’s will be in North Carolina at the Spectrum Center.
In October, the NBA announced a new All-Star format. Instead of the traditional East vs. West format, the two players receiving the most votes will draft their tram from the pool of players who were voted in.
