Many viewers are worried that Inside The NBA will come to an end at the conclusion of the 2024-2025 NBA season, but Charles Barkley has other things in mind. During a recent conversation with Dan Patrick, the former NBA star hinted a producing a new version of the show through his production imprint.
“I have my own production company, I would love to do that if if we lose it,” he told Patrick.
But I have definitely had — actually somebody suggested that to me, to be honest with you, on the internet — ‘so why doesn’t Charles Barkley sign these three, guys four guys total to his production company and sell it?’ I’m like, ‘That’s a great idea.’”
The NBA’s current TV deal is coming up on its expiration, opening the door for new players to enter the game. The majority of reports indicate that ESPN, NBC and Amazon are in the driver’s seats for this round of negotiations, leaving Turner, TNT’s parent company, on the outside looking in. However, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver has maintained that no deal has been finalized.
“Who knows,” Silver told TMZ earlier this month.
“We’re all still talking. Who knows how it’s gonna work out.”
In the meantime, Inside The NBA will prepare for what could be its last broadcast of the 2023-2024 NBA Season as the Dallas Mavericks look to sweep the Minnesota Timberwolves and advance to the 2024 NBA Finals.
