Our favorite independent artist, Chance The Rapper continues to win. With his contributions to Kanye West’s latest album TLOP to his well received ‘The Coloring Book’, Chance can’t lose right now. Since the release of ‘The Coloring Book’ his popularity has sky rocketed and with the likes of big named artist (JAY Z, Beyoncé, etc) harboring the Chicago native his future looks to be even brighter.
He’s already performed for the ESPY’s in honoring Mohammed Ali, performed as a special guest on the Bad Boy Reunion tour (just to name a few) and recently announced he would offer voter registration during his Magnificant Coloring Book Tour.
Looking to continue his run, Chance The Rapper made his Ellen DeGeneres Show debut for an interview as well as a special performance. Taking to the stage, he was joined by Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz got ‘No Problem’. Talk about a treat for fans who tuned in. After the performance Chance spoke to Ellen about his reason as to why he decided to stay independent.
“I’m just trying to be an example for all the young artists that are becoming artists every day and working on their craft and trying to help them avoid the pitfalls of upper management in music, and the non-music side of music, when it’s in your hands, you just…you’re self-motivated and you have the tools that are there.”
