CBS has announced that they will move the upcoming season of Love Island from Fiji to Las Vegas, Nevada amid COVID-19 concerns. The latest season of the reality show was slated to begin in May in Fiji, but it is now expected to begin in August. If the show is able to handle its health concerns responsibly, the show will likely run alongside Big Brother this summer.
“Once the switch is turned on, we can get it to air very quickly,” ITV America CEO David George said.
“Those shows turn around pretty quickly, Big Brother has live shows every week and Love Island literally airs the night after it shoots, those shows do not have long post processes,” CBS President Kelly Kahl said.
Members of the Big Brother production crew and cast recently arrived in Los Angeles. If successful, the network would have two high profile reality shows running at the same time.
