
Carmelo Anthony is reportedly nearing a deal to become the lead, in-studio analyst for NBC’s NBA broadcasts next season.
Carmelo Anthony is a 19-year NBA veteran who played for the Denver Nuggets, New York Knicks, Portland Trailblazers, Oklahoma City Thunder, Los Angeles Lakers and Houston Rockets. He retired after the 2021-2022 NBA season with resume that includes ten NBA All-Star Game selections, the 2013 NBA Scoring Title, and a spot on the NBA’s 75-year anniversary team. Anthony also won the 2003 NCAA Division 1 Men’s Basketball Championship as a member of the Syracuse Orange. His number was retired at Syracuse University and he nominated to be inducted in Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame.
Carmelo Anthony joins NBC as it revives its coverage of the NBA. The network previously broadcast NBA games from 1954-1962 and 1990-2002. NBC regained its place as a broadcast partner late last year as it locked in a 11-year, $76 billion deal with the NBA. Beginning next season, NBC will broadcast the a a third of the playoffs and the All-Star Game as well as weekly matchups on Tuesday and Sunday. Not to be forgotten, Monday evening matchups will be available exclusively on Peacock.
