The Florida State Seminoles have picked up Kentucky Wildcat’s freshman forward Cam’Ron Fletcher. He decided to transfer away from the Wildcat program after a rocky first season that consisted of limited minutes, arguments with the coaching staff, and even a period where the freshman was sent home. Head Coach Leonard Hamilton is all about second chances and maximizing talent out of players who haven’t shined yet in college basketball. This could be the perfect fit for a player that didn’t quite start his college career the way he wanted.
Kentucky transfer Cam’Ron Fletcher tells @Stockrisers that he’s pledged a commitment to Florida State and Leonard Hamilton. This is a major grab for the Seminoles, fits the same exact toughness and defensive abilities that FSU consists of.

Cam’Ron Fletcher was a top 75 player in the 2020 recruiting class and showcased plenty of talent coming out of high school. The fit with Kentucky never seemed quite right and frustration quickly followed. Fletcher averaged just 1.7 points and 1.7 rebounds in very limited minutes during his freshman year. Florida State runs a style of physical basketball that should be a perfect fit for the former Wildcat freshman. Head Coach Leonard Hamilton is the perfect person to guide Flecther and help him maximize his potential.
Cam’Ron Fletcher is 6’6″ and 215 pounds with a solid skill set for the college level. The goal is to help him realize his potential while also helping the program continue its recent success in the ACC and the NCAA. Fletcher should perform better with a larger role and a change of scenery at Florida State. A bright side about his freshman season was he shot 53.8 percent from the field. He made the most of the few opportunities he did get with the Wildcats.
