Calvin Harris is prepared to give the people what they have been asking for. Earlier this week, the best-selling DJ announced that his upcoming album, Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 2, will be released this summer. Unfortunately, he declined to provide fans an exact date. Still, something is better than nothing.
Harris released Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1 back in 2017 with the help of a star-studded cast. Migos, Frank Ocean, John Legend, Pharrell, Ariana Grande, Big Sean, Nicki Minaj, Snoop Dogg and countless other contributed to the project. Led by singles like “Heatstroke” with Young Thug and “Slide” with Frank Ocean, the album shot to number two on the charts in the U.K. and the U.S. Complex, Rap-Up and Billboard also named it one of the best albums of 2017.
Five years later, the anticipation for the follow-up is as great as its ever been. Hopefully, Harris will deliver what the people have been clamoring for sooner rather than later.
