Oklahoma Sooners quarterback Caleb Williams has announced that he will be transferring to the USC Trojans. He will be reunited with his former Oklahoma Sooners Head Coach Lincoln Riley in Southern California. Williams considered many schools after announcing his intent to transfer, but USC was always near the top of the list for the quarterback that will be a true sophomore next college football season.

Entering last year’s college football season Wiliams was a backup behind Heisman Trophy hopeful and top quarterback draft prospect Spencer Rattler. Midseason Lincoln Riley and the Sooners would bench the star and Caleb Willaims would take the field. He would remain the starter for the rest of the season. Fast forward to now and the Sooners have lost Lincoln Riley, Spencer Rattler, and even Williams.
Williams told reporters the following after the news of his commitment broke: “I wanted to go somewhere I thought would provide me with the best development both on and off the field, getting to know Coach Riley and gaining familiarity with his offense definitely played a part in my selection, as well as already knowing some of the guys on the team.”
In his lone season playing for the Sooners, Wiliams posted 1,912 yards, 21 touchdowns, and just four interceptions. He also rushed for 442 yards and six touchdowns on the season. Caleb Williams has NFL aspirations and he feels that USC is the place that will get him there. Lincoln Riley has already put several quarterbacks into the NFL, so it may just work out for both sides.
