The Seattle Seahawks lose another key member of their offensive line, this time it’s J.R. Sweezy who is headed to Tampa Bay. ESPN’s Adam Schefter has the details of the new contract.
Buccaneers are giving former Seahawks guard J.R. Sweezy a 5-year, $32.5 million deal, per source.

The Bucs had to make a move following the retirement of Logan Mankins. This team all of the sudden has a ton of offensive line depth including left tackle Donovan Smith, Ali Marpet, Joe Hawley, Gosder Cherilus, and Demar Dotson. Sweezy figures to fit in at guard. Sweezy, 26, cashed in for $32.5 million after a solid season in Seattle. The Bucs also kept Doug Martin to solidify the run game. Tampa still has some cap space to go and get more players.
For Seattle this is an overwhelming loss. The team is also in danger of losing left tackle Russell Okung. If that were to happen Seattle would have one of the worst offensive lines in all of football. We saw how Russell Wilson ran for his life even when Sweezy and Okung were there last year.
