The Tampa Bay Bucs are close to a deal that will bring back half back Doug Martin. Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay times first reported the move.
The Raiders, Texans, and 49ers were the other main suitors for Martin’s services. The muscle hamster had an excellent 2015 season where he rushed for over 1,400 yards. Outside of his rookie year it was the only really productive year of his career.
The value of deal is valued at $6.85 million annually. Those marks would put him just shy of Jamaal Charles’ deal worth $6.95 million. Fellow free agent back Chris Ivory also found a home in the state of Florida with the Jaguars.
UPDATE:
Doug Martin will sign with the Bucs on a five-year deal worth over $35 million, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.
