Former Charlotte 49ers junior forward Brice Williams has announced that he is transferring to the Nebraska Cornhuskers this offseason. After helping the Charlotte program win the 2023 CBI Championship game, Williams announced his intent to transfer. It was assumed he would be heading to a high-major program and after entering the portal, he was linked to the Cornhuskers fairly quickly. The Nebraska program is attempting to build a better basketball program under the watch of Head Coach Fred Hoiberg. While making the NCAA Tournament is the goal, for now, the program is just attempting to get better each season.

This past season as a junior for the Charlotte 49ers, Brice Williams averaged 13.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game. He paired those numbers with a field goal percentage of 47.9 percent and a three-point percentage of 39.7 percent. Head Coach Fred Hoiberg is well known for adding talented transfers to his teams and getting the most out of them while he has them on the roster. The Nebraska program has shown some improvement since Hoiberg took the job, but more work needs to be done. With NIL now available, the Cornhuskers could begin to build a much better basketball program for the future.
