For two decades, Brian Robbins has been the man behind some of your favorite TV shows and movies. Over the course of his career, Robbins has had a hand in TV series like Blue Mountain State. In addition, he has fulfilled a producer role for films like Hardball, Coach Carter and Varsity Blues. Over the past few years, Robbins has acted as the head of Paramount Players studio. In the near future, Robbins will be going from background power player to prominent Hollywood executive.
Effective immediately, Viacom has been tapped as the head of Nickelodeon. As President of Nickelodeon, Robbins will lead the networks creative and business development. Robbins will report to Viacom President Bob Bakish. After news broke about Robbins’ promotion, Bakish said, “Brian is a creative powerhouse who has spent his career on the frontlines of our industry, anticipating and driving changes in television, film and digital media.” The Viacom President later added, “With his unmatched credentials in kids’ entertainment and his firsthand knowledge of Nickelodeon, I have asked Brian to drive the innovation and transformation that will ensure the brand remains the dominant force with young audiences.”
Robbins has a proven track record with Nickelodeon. Robbins founded Varsity Pictures which produced classic Nickelodeon shows like Kenan & Kel and All That. Robbins will look to continue his success with the network in the near future.
