The Buffalo Bills had a decision to make on Sammy Watkins at the end of the year. Either pay the playmaking wideout or let him hit the open market and get nothing back in return. With new general manager Brandon Beane in control of the football decisions, it appears he’s angling towards the future.
Sammy Watkins, with a 2018 6th round pick, has been traded to the Los Angeles Rams for their starting cornerback E.J Gaines and a 2018 second round pick. In a separate deal, the Bills also acquired a solid receiver in Jordan Matthews and a third round pick from the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for their cornerback Ronald Darby.
The Buffalo Bills announced both trades on twitter.
