For the 40th year, Riverbend Festival will return to give the people a three-day event complete with food, games, fireworks and of course, music. Headlining the annual event, Marren Morris, Nathaniel Rateliff and Trombone Shorty will take the stage in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Also, Nashville’s own Brian Brown and the legendary Big Boi will take the stage as well. Tickets for the event’s 40th anniversary are currently on sale.
Big Boi may not have released a solo studio album in the last few years, but that doesn’t mean he hasn’t been active as of late. Within the last few years, he released a joint album with Sleepy Brown and appeared in several television shows and films, including SuperFly, American Soul and Scream: The TV Series. Not to mention, he and Andre 3000 will celebrate the 20th anniversary of Speakerboxxx/The Love Below later this year.
Coming up out of the state of Tennessee, Brian Brown is also staying active with new music and live performances. Just a few weeks ago, the Nashville native delivered a new EP called Two Minute Drill. To celebrate the project’s release along with the anniversary of Journey, he put together a live performance at Drkmttr. Backed by a full band, the Tennessee artist rapped some of his most personal tracks while also delivering renditions of Bobby Caldwell’s greatest hits. More recently, he hit the skate park for the “Icy” video with Por Vida. Time after time, he is reminding old and new fans why he is one of the most promising artists of the late 2010s and 2020s.
